I was out of town for a few days, and away from my computer, so I didn't get a chance to update.  So, here we are....

This isn't the Orient Express, but players won't know that - and its a good photo of a train that could be the Orient Express pushing through a snow-covered forest.

During the 1920s, Victorian morals of constriction were abandoned, particularly in the fashion houses of Milan as a new culture of culture of dance, seduction, independence, and indulgence came to life. Fashions of tight-laced corsets and unrevealing gowns were ignored. Fashions of loose, knee-bearing dresses and luxurious furs and kimonos were adored.

More border guards

Again, I have no idea where this photo is from - although the Pickelhaube helmets certainly suggest a Germanic origin.  This puts it somewhat out of the purview of the stated goals of this blog, however its more the idea of an Eastern European Border Check Point that appeals to me.

And lets face it, when you're being questioned by a Border Guard with a Pickelhaube, you somewhat expect them to have a severe accent, and absolutely zero sense of humour.

"Vhy do you haff zis ztatue?  Vhat are you vhanting to do?  Your papiers are nicht in order!  Come zis vhay...."

Serbian Police types

Its likely that in the course of their adventures, players will run into government officials, particularly police and border guards.

Its not that these guys are 'bad guys' in any way.  They've simply been charged with keeping good order and discipline in society, and the players are likely disrupting things.

Chetniks, Bandits, and Cultists.... Oh My!

Heres a picture of some 'Chetniks' from Yugoslavia.  Im not sure when this picture was taken - but the Chautchaut machine gun piqued my interest, and I cant help but think that they look like a splendid group of bandits, or perhaps they're cultists, or they're in the employ of cultists trying to impede the players?

Today, a hotel sticker for a hotel in Ljubljana Yugoslavia (Jugoslavia)

May your 2013 be filled with Dusty old Tomes, Cultists, and all sorts of Mythos related occurances....
